Inbai Kim's sculptures primarily articulate the immaterial characteristics of time, space, and mobility, with a particular interest in the concept of "dimension." Acknowledging biases stemming from conventional concepts and human cognitive limits, Kim proposes new sensory experiences and lines of questioning.
Following on his previous work titled Mirror(2023), which transcends its role as a mere reflection tool, Kim unveils a new iteration in 2024, composed of two objects. These paired objects, one intagliated and the other embossed, seem to reflect each other, creating a harmonious blend where subject and object coexist and become one. Additionally, the accompanying drawing is deliberately designed so that the front and back are identical, further exploring this theme.
Mirror (2024) unfolds a new dimension by merging front and back, inner and outer, concepts traditionally seen as dichotomous, thereby redefining and expanding our perceptions of reality.
